Workshop Kits

This workshop provides tools and skills to make it easier to learn and practice effective listening. By learning specifically what to do (or avoid doing) to be a better listener, you can encounter fewer misunderstandings, resolve more conflicts, and waste less time.

Participants of this professional listening training will learn how to:

• Avoid misunderstandings and wasted time
• Use your superpower of listening to understand to resolve conflicts

This course prepares facilitators to deliver our Step Up to Conflict workshop, which also requires purchasing a Step Up to Conflict Workshop Participant Kit for each participant. Each participant kit includes a single-use user license, and purchase is required for each participant every time the content is delivered.

About the Step Up to Conflict Workshop   

Conflict is a natural occurrence. Whenever people come together, they bring different experiences, perspectives, opinions, and motives. While these differences are a driver of successful outcomes, they can also give rise to disagreements. While many people feel uncomfortable with conflict and may choose to avoid it, there are many other options to explore and consider that can result in positive outcomes.  

Participants in this conflict resolution workshop will gain insight into how their own values and emotions connect to conflict and learn 7 specific approaches that enable a constructive response to conflict.

The Step Up to Conflict workshop is developed by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) in collaboration with the Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute, a valued partner of CCL for over 30 years. We believe that:

• Conflict is inevitable: When people work together they bring differing perspectives, opinions and motives that can lead to conflict.
• Conflict is not always bad: Many conflicts — when handled properly — can create an atmosphere of creativity and innovation.
• Effective conflict resolution skills can be learned in this workshop: While natural ability is helpful, we know these skills can be effectively developed and improved.
• Mobilizing reframes boundaries to develop community.
• Weaving interlaces boundaries to advance interdependence.
• Transforming cross-cuts boundaries to enable reinvention.

• Leverage the ABC model to demonstrate behaviors necessary to effectively conduct a talent conversation.
• Discover their strengths and areas for opportunities in their coaching style.
• Have better conversations.
